Gedenktafel für László Bányai, Jószef Batta, Mihály Hoká und Dr. Janós Holyos
Die Gedenktafel zur Erinnerung an László Bányai, Jószef Batta, Mihály Hoká und Dr. Janós Holyos wurde an der Außenwand des Corvin-Kinos angebracht. Initiiert wurde die schlichte schwarze Granittafel vom Weltbund der beglaubigten Ungarischen Freiheitskämpfer.
László Bányai, Jószef Batta, Mihály Hoká und Dr. Janós Holyos waren Teilnehmer der Kämpfe um die Corvin-Passage 1956. Alle emigrierten nach der Niederschlagung der Revolution ins westliche Ausland und engagierten sich dort in verschiedenen Veteranenverbänden. Nähere biographische Angaben konnten nicht recherchiert werden.

The memorial plaque commemorating László Bányai, Jószef Batta, Mihály Hoká und Dr. Janós Holyos was installed on the exterior wall of the Corvin Cinema. The simple black granite plaque was initiated by the International Federation of Certified Hungarian Freedom Fighters.
László Bányai, Jószef Batta, Mihály Hoká and Dr. Janós Holyos were participants in the battles surrounding the Corvin Passage in 1956. All of them emigrated to foreign countries in the west after the Revolution had been defeated, and there they became involved in various veterans' associations. The details of their respective biographies could not be researched.

The former Chairman of the Independent Freedom Fighters was considered to be an apostle of the Hungarians until his death. József Batta 1925-1992, a freedom fighter from 1956. He found a new homeland in Norway. Until his death, he functioned there as the General Secretary of the Federation of Certified Freedom Fighters. Mihály Hóka 1929-1994, journalist, editor. An exemplary personality amidst the Hungarian community in New York, an excellent advocate of the spirit of the 1956 Revolution and Fight for Freedom. Dr. János Holyos 1915-2003. After the suppression of the Revolution and the Fight for Freedom, he settled in the vicinity of New York and established himself as a physician. He treated the poor and refugees from the Hungarian Fight for Freedom on a voluntary basis. A remarkable figure in the Hungarian community.
